Wisley RHS

The sun was shining yesterday and my eldest had a day off, so we hopped in the car for a little jaunt to Wisley Gardens. It was absolutely gorgeous out there. I only had my phone to take photos with so they're not brilliant, but I think they capture a touch of the beauty to be found around the grounds.

Squashes in one of the greenhouses in the kitchen garden

A rather striking combination of miniature deep purple iris and crocuses

I liked the contrast between the almost white bark of the birch and the salix

The bark on this prunus was amazing and felt like silk. It doesn't look real!

    1. I treat myself to an annual pass, so I might go again tomorrow. It's wonderful to see it throughout the passing seasons and they often have special events and so on. I can take a guest for free so I only need to go three times with a friend and I'm quids in! We're lucky as it's only about 15 minutes away too.

  2. I'd love to go there. I'm a member of RHS and have been to Harlow Carr in Harrogate but it is a 40 min drive away from me.

    1. If you're ever down this way, let me know and we can go together. It's so beautiful and peaceful (even if you can still make out the soft drone of the A3 and M25 in the distance!! How did the kitchen refit go? All done now I guess!
